Rueda de Casino in New Orleans

What is Rueda de Casino?

What is Rueda de Casino?  The base of it is Casino, a playfully seductive Cuban dance with many similarities to Salsa.  Rueda de Casino is Casino danced by pairs in a circle with a 'cantante' leading the dance.  It originated in 1950's in dance halls in Cuba, was popularized worldwide in the 80's and present day it is danced by kids on playgrounds and adults in nightclubs.

Bookoo Rueda Practicas

Practicas are a combination of instruction, guided practice and open social dance time.  Casino is a party dance and we like to keep the party in it.  Practicas start with the basics and get progressively more advanced.  New dancers come early! Sundays 7-10 PM & Wednesdays 6-8 PM Learn More

La Noche Caliente

Every month we take Cuba to the dance floor at the Ace Hotel New Orleans.  Join us at Three Keys lounge.  Live music with Margie Perez & Muevelo.  No cover! Dance with Bookoo Rueda when the doors open at 9 PM and tear up the dance floor with Muevelo until 2 AM.  See News & Events

Bookoo Rueda was founded in 2014 on a dare.  That dare became a mission.  We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization connecting people, communities, and cultures through dance.  We take dance out of the studio and into the community.
